Telling Our Stories: Start Your Memoir with Dr. Casey Catherine Moore

February 17 @ 18:00 - 19:00 CET

- €15.00

DATE: Mon Feb 17th, 9am Pacific/12pm Eastern/6pm CET

This workshop focuses on writing about the self and personal experiences through memoir and creative nonfiction. Storytelling is essential to FLINTA* community grounding and well-being, given our unique experiences and the importance of sharing them to celebrate and ground ourselves and represent the beautifully diverse and dynamic group we are.

In this workshop, we will foreground FLINTA* voices as we discover and implement the healthy writing habits that work for who you are, read and analyze excerpts of creative nonfiction and memoir, and develop the tools and skills to take your personal experiences from inside yourself to the page. This generative writing class will provide in-class writing time and real-time feedback. At the end of the workshop, you will have at least one piece of memoir and/or creative nonfiction started that could be developed into a longer work.

  • We will focus on best practices for memoir, CNF, and writing habits, and by the end of the generative writing session, you will have some writing started for your project.
  • This workshop is for writers of any experience level in the earlier stages of a memoir/CNF writing project.
  • This workshop will benefit your work by honing in on writing habits that make writing feel good for who and where you are, creating fodder for your major project, and providing the opportunity for feedback.
